We’ve all seen the pictures of it, but have you been there? Dead Horse State Park offers one of those scenic overlooks in Utah that is as iconic as El Capitan of Yosemite National Park.
Dead Horse point gives you a vantage point overlooking the mighty Colorado river 2000 ft below, and views of Canyonlands National Park. There are a few hikes that you can use to traverse the mesa. As well there are some fabulous mountain bike trails that are part of the Intrepid Trail system that offers thrill seekers everything they could want in a mountain bike trail.
There are places to set up camp near the point that are pretty popular and worth taking the trip for by themselves. What better way to wake up than to a view like that?
