Entertainment

As a growing regional cultural center, St. George's entertainment options are increasing. Two of the highlights are the Tuacahn Amphitheater and St. George Musical Theater. Both bring Broadway plays to the area.

Tuacahn is an outdoor amphitheater that showcases a beautiful mountain range that reaches about 1500 feet high behind the stage. The backdrop complements - but does not steal the show - plays such as Peter Pan and South Pacific and concerts by such acts like the Mormon Tabernacle Choir. It also hosts a performing arts high school as it tries to foster culture in the area.

Since the mid-1980s, the St. George Musical Theater presents plays in a different atmosphere than Tuachan. The audience sits on all four sides of the stage as its members mainly look down from higher ground, but the stage also incorporates space above the audience at the four corners of the theater. The theater company has presented plays such as Bye Bye Birdie and Oliver while hosting ghost tours around the theater each October.
