Salt Lake City

The weather in Salt Lake can change in a hurry. Storms blow in quickly, temperatures can drop instantly, and good weather can return just as fast. Salt Lake has a number of climate zones. You can experience different weather by just traveling a few miles.

The elevation in the mountains is about 10,000 feet, and the climate is similar to Alaska. The mountains also reach 60 to 70 inches of rainfall a year, most of that turns to snow. Ski Resorts receive about 40 feet of snow a year.

Spring is the most unpredictable time of year. It can be a nice sunny spring morning, and give way to a storm in the afternoon. If you like hot, dry and sunny weather, Salt Lake is the place to be for the summer. Temperatures can reach 100 or more for several days. Most people enjoy clear days and cool nights, which makes Salt Lake the best place to be in fall.
