Hiking

The Las Vegas region is full of great hiking trails. Most of them are in the Mojave Desert, but there are several on Mt. Charleston, which provides a greener, more wooded, and cooler environment. There are many trails throughout Red Rock Canyon, Valley of Fire State Park, Lake Mead, and Lake Mohave.

Remember to have plenty of water and sun protection when hiking in Southern Nevada since the climate here is dry and hot. When hiking on Mt. Charleston please keep in mind that the high elevation will affect your performance and may make you feel ill if you over exert yourself.
