Historic Downtown Cedar City
Downtown Cedar City’s “Mom and Pop” stores and restored turn of the 20th century facades make it a charming place to shop. Its retailers sell everything from cowboy boots to books to unique home décor. It includes arts and crafts shops, antique dealers, and art galleries. One of its most popular stores is Country and More, which carries a wide variety of merchandise, including quilts, candles, floral arrangements, garden art, signs and Americana and Victorian items. Another favorite is Bulloch Drug, which boasts an old-fashioned soda fountain. Other notable businesses include Jolley’s Ranch Wear, which sells western-style clothing, Cardon’s, which specializes in shoes and menswear, Mountain West Books and Bisque It, which offers customers the chance to make their own pottery. Downtown is also home to The Grind, a coffeehouse that hosts live music and improv comedy on weekends. Downtown’s restaurants include Lucky Buffet, Boomer’s, The Main Street Grill, Bajio Mexican Grill, Gandolfo’s, and A Taste of Hawaii.
Providence Center
Anchored by Wal-Mart and Home Depot, Cedar City’s Providence Center is located at the south end of town, just off I-15’s exit 57. Hard to miss due to its 88-foot landmark lighthouse, the shopping center is home to retail establishments such as Downeast Outfitters, Payless Shoes, GNC, Rent-a-Center, Southwest Tanning, Great Clips, and Deseret Book. In addition to its retailers, the center is home to chain restaurants such as Applebees, Chili’s, Costa Vida, Quiznos, and Subway, as well as hometown favorites such as Lupita’s, Bruno’s, and Grandee’s, a 1950s-themed ice cream parlor. The complex also features Gold’s Gym and an 8-screen movie theater. |
